Government Documents General Collections

Too few to be organized into thematic collections, these federal and state documents may include reports, hearings, books, and pamphlets on a variety of historical and current topics.

This collection also contains several documents of interest to librarians and students of government information, including:

  • Checklist of United States Public Documents, 1789-1909
  • Comprehensive Index to the Publications of the United States Government, 1881-1893 (popularly known as "Ames")
  • A Descriptive Catalogue of The Government Publication of the United States, September 5, 1774-March 4, 1881 (popularly known as "Poore's").
