The Burnet County Historical Commission provides a variety of documents, photographs, negatives, and books that represent Burnet County from its founding in the 19th century up to the 20th century.

The Commission strives to preserve, protect and promote history within the county. The Commission makes recommendations and placements for historical markers; provides recommendations for property acquisitions of historical significance; accepts artifacts and other museum items in the name of the county; and supports programs of the Texas Historical Commission.
