Description: Copy of transcript for an affidavit[?] sworn by Henry Austin and witnessed and recorded by James G. Phelps. Henry's Austin's statement details a debt of cash owed and interest accrued on an advance loan made to Stephen F. Austin by John P. Austin in Mexico in 1835. Henry Austin's statement also verifies that the loan remains unpaid.

Description: Copy of transcript for a letter from Ad Interim President Burnet to Mary Austin Holley, in which Burnet describes his ideas of Stephen F. Austin. Burnet praises Austin's character and offers an explanation for Austin's name slipping into relative obscurity among younger Texans, while Sam Houston rose in popularity.

Emily Perry also provides a list of tasks that need to be tended to in her absence (preserves, garden, weather boarding, etc.).
