Center for Big Bend Studies

The Center for Big Bend Studies, established by Sul Ross State University in 1987, promotes archaeological and historical research in the Greater Big Bend region of Texas and northern Mexico. The Center annually publishes The Journal of Big Bend Studies, with articles that draw from multiple disciplines to increase our understanding of the historical and cultural development of the southwestern United States and Northern Mexico, focusing on the Big Bend region of Texas, Chihuahua, and Coahuila.
