Duval County Public Library
About Duval County
The Texas Legislature established Duval County on February 1, 1858, naming it for Burr H. Duval, a soldier in the Texas Revolution who died in the Goliad Massacre. As of the 2010 census, the county population was 11,782. Places in the county include San Diego (county seat), Benavides, Freer, Concepcion, San Jose, Ramirez, and Realitos.
