East Parker County Genealogy & Historical Society
The East Parker County Genealogy and Historical Society is a 501(c)(3) organization which began in May of 2003 in response to the founder’s call to interested area residents who wished to learn of the area history and also how to discover their own family history. Following the first meeting officers were elected, goals identified, and by-laws established. Since its beginning, monthly meetings have been continuously held. At peak membership rose to 100 or so members. After about five years one of our members applied for a state charter and a non-profit tax status. Currently the organization’s holdings include over 7500 books, files, CDs, tapes and films and has received professional collections from two individual professional genealogists.
