Description: Photographic portrait of Ada Wessendorff as a teenager (about 16 yrs old). Wessendorff has her hair pulled back and secured with a large white bow at the nape of her neck. She is wearing a white dress with lace inset over shoulders. Bodice is shirred around shoulders, ending with a round lace band across the shoulders and chest. Shirt is shirred in four levels at the waist, and twice more at thigh level. Wessendorff is holding a bouquet of carnations. Image is mounted is cropped into an oval and mounted on a gray cardboard matte. Image dimensions: 12.0 cm x 20.5 cm. See 1972.093.152 for a duplicate photo on a different style matte.

Her dark hair is softly pulled up into bun. Her daughters are wearing white dresses. Mr. Guenther, who has graying dark hair, is wearing a dark three-piece suit with white shirt and dark tie. Description: Photograph (copy from a photo in the Moore Home) of a group of five young women. The only one identified is Dorothea Moore (bottom, center) who married John M. Moore II in 1916. All of the women have large bows at the back of their hair (except woman on far left - her bow is to the left of her head). They are all wearing white shirred front dresses and the three young women to the right are wearing necklaces with large pendants. They each have at least one pin on their shoulders. The photograph is generally cropped at the waist and is softly faded around the group. Scanned image is of the copy.

There is a 1.5 x 1.5 cm piece missing from the photograph located along the top edge 6.5 cm from the left corner. Surface damage--maybe bugs? Damaged areas have been filled in with pencil.

The girls on the left are the Chaney girls and the house in the background (left) is the Chaney house. The man at right of photo wearing white straw hat (with dark band), dark pants and vest, white shirt, and dark tie, is the rice buyer who is discussing the sale with R. V. Board (father of Lawrence Board, donor of photo). Sacks of rice in foreground. Two African-American men are standing on a wagon in center of photo. Photograph is mounted on a cardboard substrate. Photo and cardboard are in poor condition.
