Description: Photograph of Carry Nation. Nation is seated in a decorative wooden chair next to a round wooden table. She has her right hand on the back of an open book and her left hand on the open page of the book and she is posed as if she were reading. Nation, who has graying hair and wears wire-rimmed glasses, is wearing a white dress that has buttons that extend from her left shoulder to the thigh area. The dress has long sleeves and a bow tied at the collar. The photograph is mounted on a gray cardboard matte with bevel cut edges that frame the perimeter of the rectangle portrait. Bottom of matte reads: WHITE 1261 BROADWAY N.Y. Photographer name also seen in white written between the table legs. Photo dimensions are: 10 cm X 14 cm.

Description: Hand saw with a carved wooden handle and steel blade. Handle has a carved leaf pattern on one side with three brass bolts: top two are 1.2 cm in diameter and have no surface decoration, bottom bolt is 2.2 cm in diameter and is stamped with an eagle and with "Warranted / Pat. Dec. 27, 1887 / Superior"

Description: Hoof rasp that is rectangular and flat. The bottom has small diamond-shaped teeth. The sides are horizontal. The top has big wedge teeth. The handle is long and skinny, but bent far over.

[John McNabb]

Description: Photograph of "John McNabb, perhaps about 1890. Born in Scotland in 1806. (Exact date unknown). Died April 27, 1894; a member of the Santa Fe Expedition. His remains were removed from the family cemetery northwest of Rosenberg to Morton Cemetery in Richmond in the sprint of 1974." This description was written on the back of the photograph in ink. McNabb has thinning gray hair and is wearing a plaid suit (top button buttoned) with a dark wide tie, and a white shirt (collar of shirt barely visible above jacket and tie). Photo is mounted on cardboard substrate with gold scalloped trim. Bottom of photo on gold textured label: The "APEX" (emblem) 948 Elm St. Dallas, Tex.

Description: Photograph of the McFarlane House that was located on Jackson Street in Rosenberg, Texas. The McFarlane house is a story and a half white wooden house with dark trim. The front porch has ornate wooden railing that is partially obscured by the wooden fence that surround the yard. The gate to the fence is on the far left side of the photo. Four people are standing on the front porch. There is a man on horseback just to the right of the center of the photograph. He is wearing dark pants, white shirt, dark jacket and hat; and he is on a dark horse. The photograph is mounted on cardboard substrate. The photograph has tears, is broken at top left corner, worn at all corners, and is stained. The photograph has tape on back.

[Stock and die]

Description: The stock of the die is rectangular shaped with two long handles that come out opposite sides. One handle is part of the rectangle while the other screws on to tighten or loosen the five dies inside the stock. The rectangular part of the stock has a 10.5 cm X 2.7 cm rectangular opening into which the dies fit. On the dies are several engraved numbers. A 7 is marked at the top of all five dies and on the 1st,3rd,4th and 5th are marked 10, 12,14,16. Above the die is a stamp: BUTTERFIELD & CO DEP BY LINE, V1. ROCK ISLAND. P.a Below them is written: No 32 B.
