A chain also hangs below the yoke. The man is wearing overalls, white shirt, and a cloth head covering. The bulls and the man are standing in front of a row of bushes at the King Ranch. There is an automobile near top right corner of photograph in front of Dry Creek. Dry Creek is nearly out of its banks; water can be seen past the fence line.
