There is a wooden rocking chair in left foreground. Arches and porch railing of the wooden house is in the background. The woman sitting side saddle on a white horse may be Rhydonia Jones who was married to Mamie George's cousin Henry Jones. Rhydonia is wearing a white blouse and dark skirt. She is in the shade of the cistern house located on the left side of the photograph. The Nancy Jones oak tree in the center background, which, according to the "1996 George Ranch Historical Park Interpreter Training Manual" was planted by Nancy Jones in 1824, shades a lounging dog (front) and a turkey (right). Two small wooden structures also sit beneath the shade tree (possibly animal pens) on the left and right sides of the tree trunk. Smaller trees are to the right of the photo. A white wooden pen can partially be seen in the background between the white horse and the cistern. Wooden fence in background with trees in the distance. The George Ranch House was built in 1899 (completed in 1900) with design work by Nicholas Clayton, a famous Galveston architect, according to the "1996 George Ranch Historical Park Interpreter Training Manual". The house has dark trim on window shutters and ornate posts of porch. A white picket fence encloses the ranch house yard. There are three geese near center right of photograph in a pen. Wire fence (barb wire top) in foreground. Trees in right background with the top of a small wooden building visible on far right.
