Memorabilia from the District Meeting of the Texas Federation of Women's Clubs and memos from the Annual Meeting of the Texas Fine Arts organization are included. Several exhibit brochures of events held in Abilene are pasted to the book pages.

The program for the year was "Art for the Busy Woman." Meeting minutes, bylaws, and a section on finger painting are a part of this scrapbook. Other club news includes the Abilene Wednesday Club, one of the charter member clubs of the Abilene Federation. Federation teaching tools include a unit on "Famous Cathedrals." A Texas Centennial pamphlet is included in the Texas Federation section along with minutes and National Federation handouts.

Description: Pressbook documenting art events in Abilene, Texas, from 1937 to 1938 with emphasis on those of the Texas Federation of Women's Clubs Sixth District. This pressbook starts with a membership certificate to the Art Unit. Clippings and other documents during this year include minutes and information on the organization of the Abilene Fine Arts Museum and a copy of the constitution for the Fine Arts Association, including the by-laws, and financial records from 1939 to 1956. A collection listing from 1937 to 1957 of the art works purchased or donated to the museum and the prices paid is also in the book. The book also contains draft history of the Fine Arts Museum from 1937 to 1957 and a membership list of the Fine Arts Association and its charter members.

[Art Forum Pressbook, 1938-1939]

Description: Scrapbook that documents art events over the year with emphasis on local events and those of the Texas Federation of Women’s Clubs Sixth District of which Abilene, Texas, was a part. This scrapbook won first place at the Sixth District Convention. Included are 49 pages of prints purchased from the Metropolitan Museum of Art and made available for ten cents a piece by the American Committee for Art Appreciation. The brochure includes a history of the different painters. These prints were exhibited at the Abilene Chamber of Commerce and at the Abilene Women's Club.

Cutouts from Ladies Home Journal are also pasted onto pages of the book.

The title page of this book includes the membership and officers of the Forum Club and the Art Unit. A note on the Table of Contents page states that the "Clippings not arranged by above contents." The last section of the book included reproductions of paintings from magazines and highlights Mexican Art. The section related to the 6th District includes art related activities and financial reports by Miss A. M. Carpenter.

Included in the book are two journals: Federation News (July 1942) and College Art Journal (Vol. 1, No. 2, January 1942). In addition there is a listing of the art programs of the General Federation.

Description: Pressbook documenting art events in Abilene, Texas, from 1942 to 1943 with emphasis on those of the Texas Federation of Women's Clubs Sixth District. This pressbook won honorable mention in the statewide contest sponsored by the Texas Federation of Women's Clubs for communities promoting art. The first page includes a certificate of membership in the Art Forum and a listing of membership, officers and committees. One of the highlights of the year was an exhibit of Military Art by Corporal Samuel Smith at the Abilene Fine Arts Museum. Most of the clippings focus on local art events and document member activities supporting the war effort.

The cover of this album is from Federation News, May 1945. Miss A.M. Carpenter is listed as the chairman of the Art Unit. Memorabilia include catalogues and clippings of art shows in Abilene. One exhibit, sponsored jointly by the Abilene Museum of Fine Arts and the United States Marine Corps, was entitled "Combat Art" by Sgt. Sherman Loudermilk. This book contains clippings and postcards about Camp Barkeley, the World War II training camp established outside of Abilene, and the USO activities on Second Street.
