Lancaster Genealogical Society
In 1977, 17 "wannabe" genealogists gathered at the Lancaster Veterans Memorial Library to create the Society. They wanted to promote interest in genealogy and preserve family histories. It includes members from Cedar Hill, Dallas, DeSoto, Duncanville, Hutchins, Lancaster, Midlothian, Ovilla, Red Oak, Oklahoma, and Tennessee.
