[17-Cent Armory Token]

Description: One of a collection of 244 miscellaneous "Texas Trade Tokens." This coin is gold-colored, octagonal, and says, "Good for 17 [cents] in Military Goods" on one side; on the other it has the text: "Deep River Armory, J. B. Hughes, Prop., Houston, Texas."

Petition to the State Legislature

Description: Petition by citizens of Harris County to the State Legislature, asking to legalize barbed wire. A logo at the top of the page says, "Glidden's Patent, Steel Barb Fence Wire, Galvanized or Japanned." There is a description of the proposal followed by a list of handwritten signatures. Handwriting on the back of the page says, "Harris Co., Feb. 14/79" with additional notes.
