[Coliseum exterior 1973]

Description: Photograph of the coliseum exterior in 1973. It has been called one of the finest basketball facilities in college athletics. The University of North Texas Coliseum, or "The Super Pit," is home to the North Texas Men's and Women's basketball teams. Built in 1973, the Coliseum is designed for multipurpose use and has excellent viewing sight lines from any seat in the arena. The Coliseum has 9,797 upholstered permanent theater type seats plus forty-eight positions for wheelchairs.

[Portrait of Dr. Peter Cimbolic]

Description: Photograph of Dr. Peter Cimbolic. Earlier in his career, Dr. Cimbolic served on the faculty and directed counseling centers at the University of North Texas and the University of New Hampshire. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Montclair State University in New Jersey; a master’s degree in Developmental Psychology from the Teachers College of Columbia University; and a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Missouri. In the spring of 2010, the Ohio Dominican University Board of Trustees appointed Peter Cimbolic, Ph.D. as the 15th president of the institution.

He received his BA from Drury College and his MA and PhD from the University of Oklahoma. He was the head of the Radio/Television/Film division during the 1960s and was instrumental in the development of KNTU, the campus radio station. He was awarded the Shelton Excellence in Teaching Award for the school year 1986-1987.
