Patent for "improvements in coffee-pots, and has for its object the provision of an improved coffee-grounds holder, together with a device of improved form for spraying the water thereover, the latter device operating in conjunction with a condenser; and a further object is to provide the pot with an adjustable handle." The invention affords "the most perfect protection to the user by protecting his knee against contact with objects which would tend to bruise and injure it, and by preventing the dampness of the ground from being transmitted to the knee, which, as is well known, results in various diseases, such as rheumatism" (lines 13-20).
Horse Detacher.
Patent for a new and improved horse-detacher. Automatic Lock for Cotton Gins
Patent for an automatic lock for cotton gins. It provides an automatic latch having a constant tendency toward the latching position, but yieldable to the opening of breast of the cotton gin. This is to prevent accidents involving the removing of obstruction in the gin happening to those removing the obstruction. Illustrations are provided.
Wire Stretcher.
Patent for a new and improved wire-stretcher. This design "has for its object to provide a device of simple, durable, and economical construction and capable of carrying the roll taut a sufficient distance beyond the post to conveniently nail the wire thereto, and whereby any amount of slack can be taken up by repeated operation. The further object of the invention is to provide a machine which will also be able to draw together the broken ends of a wire and take up the slack between the posts" (lines 8-18).
