Description: Patent for a new and improved wagon jack. This design consists "[i]n a wagon body raiser, the combination of vertical supports, a lever pivotally supported therefrom between its ends and having a roller in one end, a shaft adapted to be secured to one end of the body, a cord having one end connected with the same end of the body as the shaft and passing over the roller and its opposite end attached to the shaft, and a cord attached to the opposite end of the body and to the adjacent end of the lever" (lines 69-78).

Description: Patent for a new and improved file re-cutter. This design consists "[i]n an apparatus for recutting files by electro-chemical action, the dialectric plates and the carbon plates having their upper ends attached to said non-conducting plates, whereby the files to be recut are disposed between the carbon plates when in the solution" (lines 76-82).

Description: Patent for a "means for removing screw-threaded cores from cylindrical cotton-bales" (lines 12-14). It is made up of a wheeled-truck that is holding the bale, an apparatus that grips the end of the core, a way to revolve the grip, a driven shaft, and a universal joint that connects the shaft with the end of the core.

Description: Patent for a new and improved round dispenser. This design "consists in a receptacle or multiple bin the several compartments of which are provided with valves controlling exit-openings, whereby any desired quantity of shot, descending by gravity from the appropriate compartment, may be directed into the scale-pan of a scale without the necessity of lifting the receptacle or bin or any part of its contents" (lines 35-43).

Description: Patent for an improved apparatus for scouring water-ways by using water-discharge pipes and air-discharge pipes arranged at each side of the vessel. When “vessel is slowly moved forward while the water and air forcing pumps are working,..... direct force of the water-jets and air-jets will agitate and scatter and lift the dislodged particles and float them much higher and longer than would be the case were the water-jet pipes alone used.” (Lines 63-75) Illustration is included.

Description: Patent for a portable manually operated apparatus that is designed to stretch wire-fence strands at right angles to tighten the full length of the strand without "kinking or twisting the fence-strand or driving staples or analagous fastenings into the fence-post" (lines 16-21) while the fence strand is tight. Includes instructions and illustrations.

Description: Patent for a new and improved ice maker. This design calls for "two or more sheets of galvanized iron or other metal set in a tank of fresh water, one on either side of the evaporation-pipes, and held in a position parallel to each other by anchors or yokes that connect them" (lines 15-20). This eliminates the need for strong (ammoniacal) brine and is a faster, more reliable, and less leaky ice-making process than previous ones that used said brine.

Description: Patent for a machine that puts gins and condensers in a line, which sit over a flue. "The lint cotton in bat form being delivered from all of the condensers in independent bats to a common conveyer, the bat cotton increasing in thickness upon the common conveyer and in its travel to a press, compress or other receptacle, receiving the different bats from the different condensers, one bat lying smoothly upon the other, until at the discharge end of the common conveyer, the bat in which the lint is evenly distributed and which is of considerable thickness, will be conveniently discharged" (lines 13-24).

Description: Patent for an apparatus for treating knee ankylosis that is ready to use at a moments notice "without unnecessary or nervous shock to the invalid to apply the requisite heat, extension, and flexion to an afflicted part to render it supple and restore to its natural functions". Description: Patent for an invention to aid in the treatment of treating timber. The invention is said to "provide a simple, inexpensive, durable, and efficient apparatus by means of which railroad cross-ties, fence-posts, and the like may be expeditiously and economically treated by immersion in a bath of some preserving liquid" (lines 16-22) including illustrations.

Description: Patent for a new and improved hoof trimmer. This design "consists in an upright standard or support having a concaved supporting-recess adapted to receive the animal's hoof, with parallel guide-ways arranged in rear thereof, a trimming implement moving in said guides, and so constructed as to operate upon the hoof without injury to the frog, and means for reciprocating the trimming device from either side of the animal" (lines 16-25).
