Improved Baling-Press.

Description: Patent for improvements in portable press by dividing the pressing-chamber into two parts, one of which is fixed to the wagon-frame, the other part is movable. “The movable part contains the follower, adapted to be titled with it, and operated by the winding-drum, cords, wheel and the wings, working in the horizontal slots in the sides of these parts.” (Lines 81-85) Illustration is included.

Description: Patent for a hay and cotton press, "the operation of which shall be such that the platen, in starting, moves quickly, but as it approaches the end of its movement its velocity decreases, and its power proportionately increases." (Lines 15-18) Includes instructions and illustrations.

Improvement in Gang-Plows.

Description: Patent for "constructing and arranging a gang or series of plows in one frame that they may have an adjustment on the supporting-runners, and a means of self-adjustment vertically, so that they may be set for furrow-slices of any given depth, and any one of the series may give way to an undue resistance in the line of the furrow without disturbing any other of the plows." Improvement in Reversible Axle-Skeins.

Description: Patent for improvements in reversible axle skeins: "My invention consists of cast mental axle skeins fitted on the axles, whether of wood or iron, so that they can be turned from time to time, as they wear away, to remove the worn place from the wearing position and bring a part not worn thereto." Improvement in Glass Globes or Reservoirs for Lamps.

Description: Patent for an "invention to prevent the breaking of glass globes used in kerosene lamps as reservoirs for the burning fluid; and this invention consists in the application around the reservoir of a rubber ring let into a groove, but projecting sufficiently to receive the concussion in case the lamp is overthrown."
