Description: Patent for a simply, durably, and efficiently constructed plow-stock that "will admit of changes being made in an expeditious and convenient manner to facilitate the grouping of the shares or plows to be carried by the stock" (lines 11-14).

Velocipede.

Description: Patent for a new and improved velocipede. This design "has relation to that class of velocipedes in which the rider is suspended within a large wheel impelled by a frictional contact between the inner periphery of the same and the driving wheel" (lines 8-12). With this design, "by the increased size of wheel, not only is speed gained, but the same may be propelled with greater ease over rough or smooth roads and with greater comfort to the rider, in that the jolt is less, and yet at the same time all the benefits arising from this class of exercise are obtained" (lines 27-34).

Combined Flour and Meal Bin and Sifter.

Description: Patent for a combined flour and meal bin sifter meant for the kitchen. The amount of flour or meal put into the machine does not matter, and the sifter may be removed when desired. The sifted material is directed into a container, and the end of the chute can be closed when not in use.

Hobby Horse.

Description: Patent for a new and improved hobby horse. This design "consists in providing a 'hobby-horse' or a 'stick-horse' with a pivoted head, to which is preferably connected a spring, so that the swinging of the head will give the appearance of the horse pulling on the reins held by the operator. The invention comprises a head pivoted at one end, a spring secured thereto and to the horse, and a lip on said head to limit the downward movement thereof" (lines 14-24).

Description: Patent for a telephone-transmitter "with a diaphragm and carbon button carried thereby, of a spring-supported flaring conical carbon-cell provided with a flange covered with soft material and resting on the carbon button carried by the diaphragm, the carbon-cell being filled with granulated carbon resting in contact with the carbon button" (lines 13-19). This is meant to optimize the volume of sound being transmitted.

Machine for Cutting Stick-Candy.

Description: Patent for a simple and durable machine for cutting stick-candy that is "capable of traveling over a table or other support upon which stick candy in given lengths may be laid, and to so travel over the table that the lengthy sticks of candy will be made to slide over the bed of the machine, under a knife or its equivalent; and a further object of the invention is to provide a means whereby the knife may be manipulated at predetermined points in the travel of the machine to cut the lengthy sticks into shorter predetermined lengths" (lines 11-21).
