Wheel
Patent for a vehicle wheel with a rigid frame and a hub that has radical range of motion.

Patent for a ventilating apparatus "adapted for use in connection with buildings, storehouses, and school and other buildings, both public and private" (lines 9-12).
Pump-Jack.

Car Coupling.
Patent for a new and improved coupling for railroad cars. This design "is in couplers adapted to use a link of ordinary form and to be so set that coupling may be automatic or not, as desired" (lines 15-17). It consists, "with the draw-head having lugs upon each side of the same, of the vertical coupling-pin, the pivoted pin-supporting arms arranged to contact with the lugs, and tripping arms adapted to be operated by the centering-link and throw the arms from the lugs" (lines 23-29).

This design consists, "with the stationary jaw provided with a shank and an inclined portion on the shank, of a movable jaw, also provided with a shank, having an inclined portion on it and pivotally connected to the stationary jaw, and a loop pivoted to the stationary jaw and engaging with the shank of the movable jaw, whereby the said two inclined portions are retained in working position" (lines 85-94).
Clutch Clamp.
Patent for a new and improved clutch-clamp. This design "is to provide a simple and effective device for lowering or hoisting the pipe or rods of pumps into bored wells or other places, such as mines or shafts, and without injury to the pipe or rod, such device being not only readily and easily handled in connecting it to or disconnecting it from the object to be raised or lowered, but capable of being manufactured at comparatively small cost" (lines 20-29).
Windmill.
Patent for an improved wind wheel that has "every other blade...has a right angled extension or cup to catch the wind, the blades thus formed being set in the hub and rim of the wheel so as to have said right angled portions where they will receive the full force of the wind" (lines 17-22). A ring supports the angled portions of the windmill blades.

Patent for a new and improved well drill. This design "consists in a novel construction of a tool for boring or drilling wells, which tool has the drill-bit and the reamer so united as to operate simultaneously, and thus serve the functions of the so-called "Z-bit" and effectually prevent the tool from being thrown laterally out of the line of cutting when striking bowlders; and the invention also consists in an improved construction of the coupling of the tool to the sinker-bar or drill-bar" (lines 9-18).

Pocket-Knife.
Patent for a pocket knife that includes a wet stone built into its detachable handle. The handle may be taken off in order for the user to sharpen retractable blades attached to the pocket knife. This improvement upon the pocket knife design may be employed to the handle portion of any knife such as butcher knives or hunting knives.
