Description: Patent for "a combined animal poke and halter of simple, inexpensive, and efficient construction whereby stock to which the device is applied are prevented from forcing through or throwing their weight against barbed and other wire fences, and also whereby a halter strap or chain may be readily applied thereto to provide for securing the stock in their stalls when stabled." Description: Patent for a "means for removing screw-threaded cores from cylindrical cotton-bales" (lines 12-14). It is made up of a wheeled-truck that is holding the bale, an apparatus that grips the end of the core, a way to revolve the grip, a driven shaft, and a universal joint that connects the shaft with the end of the core.

Description: Patent for improvements in atomizers or instruments for distributing powders or liquids in which it provided “provision for closing the exit-passage and preserve the strength of the medicated powders or fluid and permit of the carrying of the same within the body of the device without danger of spilling.” (Lines 17-21) The rubber bulb is detachable and is used as a powder-box or as a bottle for fluid. Illustration is included.

Description: Patent for an automatic railway-gate or cattle-guard for use "at crossings, the entrances to tunnels, bridges or trestles, or at other places where it is desirable to guard the tracks" (lines 11-13). The invention is a simple and effective way for closing gates, can be operated from a distance, and is controlled by the wheels of passing trains.

Description: Patent for an improved automatic passenger register and mileage recorder for vehicles that travel on rails. It consists of a roller that is actives by a time motor, a strip that the roller moves, a pressure roller, a pair of rollers that a record sheet is wound between, a mechanism that controls movements of the pair of rollers, electromagnets that are connected to the seats, armature levers that mark the electromagnets current, a bell crank lever that marks the moving record sheet, and a spring that supports the lever.

Description: Patent for a new and improved bale-band replacer and tightener. This design "provide[s] a simple and convenient device for replacing a broken bale-bind, for tightening the band around the bale, and for drawing the ends together, so as to provide the necessary slack for slipping the loop out of the tie when it is desired to remove a band" (lines 13-19).

Description: Patent for a baling press made up of a vertically movable core that moves up as it gets wrapped up in the internet, supporting drums, a feed apron that presses the material to the core, a pivoted swinging frame with a compression roller, a bale support, a mechanism that lifts the frame when the bale is finished, and a rack-and-pinion mechanism that raises the compression roller that moves up to let the bale get bigger, and a mechanism that rotates the rack-and-pinion.

Description: Patent for an attachment for thrashing-machines "for cutting the bands on the sheaves of wheat, rice, or other grain, to spread the loosened bundles out uniformly, and to then feed them thus spread out into the thrashing-machine, whereby the strain on the machine can be made more uniform" (lines 15-20) and the capacity and efficiency can be increased.
