News release : Governor and Mrs. Connally to visit Latin America.

Description: News release announcing Governor and Mrs. John Connally's three-weeks visit to Latin American countries in July/August 1966 on behalf of HemisFair '68. He will invite countries to participate in the fair. Prior to his departure he will be honored at a reception in Washington, D.C. for his role as Commissioner General of the fair. The news release also mentions countries and corporations who have already signed up to participate in HemisFair '68.

O’Gorman Mural- Theater of performing arts- Convention Center

Description: Image of a family standing on the stairs outside the Convention Theater. The focus of the top half of the picture is of the mural “Confluence of Civilization in the Americas” by Juan O’Gorman This 110-by-22-foot mosaic glass mural is located over the western entrance to the Convention Theater. More than 1.2 million natural stones and pieces of glass were used to show the past and future development of the Americas. The mural was created in the artist’s studio in Mexico then shipped in sections to San Antonio for the 1968 World’s Fair known as HemisFair ’68, held from April to October 1968 in San Antonio.
