Both are wearing long, shin length fur coats and hats in styles of the late 1930s / early 1940s. Both also have large clutch style purses. The back side of the photograph has printed "Via Condotti [and] Via Ludovisi." These are both famous streets in Rome, Italy. This shows that the photograph was taken on either street.
