Description: Patent for a new and improved hay-press. This design consists in "the frame having the pulley, the follower having the pulleys, and the shaft having the loose drums . . . means for locking either of the said drums to the said shaft, the rope attached to the drum and passing over the pulley with which the follower is provided, and secured to an immovable object, and the rope attached to the drum, passed over the pulley and attached to the follower" (lines 27-35).
