Austin, in which Ficklin [the postmaster of Lexington, Kentucky at that time] informs Austin that the letter he has enclosed is for a member of the Austin colony, whose son is in Lexington, Kentucky. Ficklin also offers his observations regarding the young man's ability to behave well and his capacity to learn.
