Description: Abstract: The Metropolitan Transportation Plan is the basic framework for the San Antonio-Bexar County Metropolitan Planning Organization's continuous, comprehensive, and coordinated regional transportation planning efforts for the next twenty five years. The Plan provides for the efficient, safe, and convenient transportation of people and goods. The Plan addresses the mobility needs of the Study Area to the year 2025 by identifying transportation improvement projects within four general categories: (1) improving roadway capacity, (2) maintaining existing roadways, (3) improving public transportation services, and (4) other transportation improvements such as bicycle and pedestrian improvements and other transportation demand management techniques. The Plan also addresses the extensive public involvement process and the transportation modal analysis used in the Plan development.
