[Native American-Themed Parade Float]

Description: Photograph of the parade float commemorating the Karankawa Indians, the first settlers of the area now known as League City, in the League City sesquicentennial parade in honor of Texas' 150th birthday. Riding the float are five adolescent boys wearing costumes meant to represent Karankawan attire. A makeshift hut and torches made from large aluminum tins make up the float decor. Written on the side of the float is this text: "First Settlers of League City, Karankawa Indians." The parade took place on a major road in League City.
