[Transcript of Letter from Stephen F. Austin to J.H. Bell, October 16, 1830]

Description: Copy of transcript for a letter from Stephen F. Austin to J.H. Bell, in which Austin orders Bell to prevent any new settlers from traveling further than five miles below La Baddie [Bedias Road], because Mr. Kincheloe has already been given the authority to choose any tract above or below La Baddie. Austin also warns Hill to avoid giving settlement permits to anyone without proper recommendations, and to be cautious of incoming settlers from Red River because their traveling party may include criminals.
