[A decorated pipe]

Description: Black wooden mouthpiece attached to 2000.081.001a. Label on pipe identifies it as: "Pipe found on the Battlefield of San Jacinto the day after the battle. Supposed to be several hundred years old and former property of a German officer." The wooden mouthpiece is divided by metal rings into three separate portions. Two rings are missing and one is unremovable.

Pipe has a white ceramic bowl that is decorated with a multi-colored image of two women. The woman on the left is sitting in a turquoise, fabric backed chair with her left elbow on her knee and her left hand resting against her face. The woman on the right is kneeling at the the seated woman's feet. Her right wrist is resting on the left knee of seated woman. A stool is between the women with a small chandelier above them.
