Submarine Channel Protection.

Description: Patent for new and improved submarine channel protection. This design "consist[s] of two walls approximately parallel with each other extending across the sand-bar, and a barrier consisting of inclined wings extending from the side walls to the center of the channel, and a filling in rear of the wings" (lines 46-51).

[Japanese Midget Submarine]

Description: Photograph of one of the Japanese midget submarine No. 19 that was involved in the attack on Pearl Harbor while the sub was on display at the University of Texas while on a tour to sell war bonds. Note that this is the midget submarine that is on display at the National Museum of the Pacific War (formerly the Nimitz Museum) in Fredericksburg Texas.

[Military Payment Certificate Worth 10 Cents]

Description: Military payment certificate used by the United States Military during the Vietnam War worth 10 cents. The front side of the bill has an illustration of a submarine in an ocean, the serial number is printed in black ink, and there is a note on the bottom that reads: "For use only in United States Military establishments by United States authorized personnel in accordance with applicable rules and regulations." The back of the bill has an illustration showing an astronaut floating in space bordered by a purple field with "10 cents" printed on either side.
