Description: Photocopy of a letter from Bill McCarter, co-director of North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts, to Deborah Howes, Associate Museum Educator at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The recommendation letter is in regards to the news of the Met's consideration of having one of UNT's graduate students, Rebecca Arkenberg, hold an internship in Howes's department. McCarter goes on to write about how wonderful of a student Arkenberg is and that he'll be sad to see her go but her skills are superb beyond others and her work with North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts is exemplary.

[Art Forum Pressbook, 1938-1939]

Description: Scrapbook that documents art events over the year with emphasis on local events and those of the Texas Federation of Women’s Clubs Sixth District of which Abilene, Texas, was a part. This scrapbook won first place at the Sixth District Convention. Included are 49 pages of prints purchased from the Metropolitan Museum of Art and made available for ten cents a piece by the American Committee for Art Appreciation. The brochure includes a history of the different painters. These prints were exhibited at the Abilene Chamber of Commerce and at the Abilene Women's Club.

"Imaging Columbus" A Christopher Columbus Iconography

Description: Video recording of a slideshow presentation by Samuel J. Marino that was directed and included photographs from Silas S. Stamper. It includes visuals of portraits, monuments, statues, busts, and books that depict Christopher Columbus. It was overlaid with music from the Italian Symposium of Texas and narration explaining who the artists, and writers were along with a history of Columbus.
