The well at the Alamo

Description: Photograph of a well under a tree on the Alamo grounds in San Antonio, Texas. It is a square brick structure with wooden braces at the top. A group of unidentified persons is visible on a path in the background, as well as part of a building and a wall enclosing the grounds. The well was dug during the mission period and was in use in 1836.

Air Compressor for Deep Well Pumps.

Description: Patent for a new and improved air-compressor. This design "relates to improvements in air-compressing mechanism for the purpose of pumping for forcing from deep wells and performing similar work; and it consists in the construction and arrangement of a larger and smaller air-cylinder, and the combination therewith of mechanism to force the air from the larger into the smaller cylinder to increase the air-pressure in the latter" (lines 22-30).

Description: Funeral program for Mr. Rugent Wells, born March 30, 1896 and died on March 15, 1974. The funeral was held March 20, 1974 at Second Baptist Church, officiated by Reverend S. H. James. Funeral arrangements were made through the Lewis Funeral Home, and he was buried in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery near San Antonio, Texas.
