Description: A memo from Stevie Mack, assistant director of Improving Instruction in Visual Arts Education, to the IVAE consultants. The memo is in regards to the the scheduled IVAE Consultant Meeting in Los Angeles for the dates May 29th - June 2nd, 1990. Mack writes in the memo that he'd like everyone in attendance at the dinner meeting on Tuesday at 6 pm and that the conference will end after dinner on June 2nd for a Sunday June 3rd departure from the hotel. The rest of the memo details hotel reservations, transportation and important notes.

[Annual Report: National Project Committee, 1962-1963]

Description: Annual report of the National Project Committee of the San Antonio chapter of The Links, Inc. for 1962-1963. For the first time, the chapter embarked on a full-scale project to introduce selected local students to the fine arts through cultural events programs, which included visits to the symphony, opera, musicals, and art galleries. Both the students involved and school principals were supportive of the program and felt it was a great success. The committee recommends that the program be renewed for a second year.

[Drafts of letters promoting a series of fine arts seminars for students]

Description: Drafts of letters by Vernis Hudgins to prospective participants in a series of seminars sponsored by the San Antonio chapter of The Links, Inc. to educate local students about the fine arts. The first letter is addressed to school principals and asks them to read an enclosed letter to students. The second letter invites students to attend the seminar series and is the one to be read by the principals. There is also a list of six principals who should receive these letters. Includes handwritten corrections.

[RE: Arts Education Assessment Consortium, September 14, 1994]

Description: Photocopy of a letter from Julie Abel, the Getty Center, to the Regional Institute Directors, in regards to the upcoming arts assessment. The Arts Education Assessment Consortium, AEAC, is administered by the Council of Chief State School Officers to all the RIG states. The Center is providing support to the AEAC to develop assessment prototypes in the visual and performing arts and believes that if the DBAE, discipline-based art education, is embedded in the assessment prototypes it will strengthen the impact within the state and nationally. A list of state contacts is attached to the letter.
