[City of Waco $1 Certificate]

Description: Engraved certificate the size of a bank note with images and text on the front that says: "The City of Waco, State of Texas, Will pay to bearer One Dollar." There are black-and-white images on the front including a man carrying a spear on horseback (lower-left corner), a brick suspension bridge over a river with a city behind (center), and a train engine pulling a coal car (lower-right). The back of the certificate has a decorative design in blue ink surrounding the text "Receivable for all Advalorem Tax. Due the City of Waco." The recorder signature on the bottom right corner is signed by James H. Torbett.
