Description: Pressbook documenting art events in Abilene, Texas, from 1939 to 1940 with emphasis on those of the Texas Federation of Women's Clubs Sixth District. Included in this scrapbook, in addition to clippings about local, district and state news, are pencil sketches of buildings including ones of downtown Abilene, the Texas State Capitol, and the National capitol. Cutouts from Ladies Home Journal are also pasted onto pages of the book.

Description: Letter from Dr. Meyer Bodansky to Dr. Louis Daily and Dr. Ray K. Daily, dated October 25, 1939. The letter informs the Dailys that a letter from a fellow doctor is enclosed for their analysis. Dr. Bodansky also discusses his plans for a vacation to Houston and the fact that his book was recently published. He also invites the couple to visit him and his wife Eleanor.

[Correspondence between Meyer Bodansky and J. M. D. Olmsted - November 1939]

Description: Letters between Dr. Meyer Bodansky, who is from the Department of Pathological Chemistry of the School of Medicine at the University of Texas, and Dr. J. M. D. Olmsted, who is from the Department of Physiology at the University of California Medical School. The first letter, which is from Dr. Bodansky, is dated November 25, 1939. It requests that Dr. Olmsted send him a copy of a book that Dr. Olmsted wrote that concerns students' notes on the lectures of John Hunter. Dr. Bodansky explains that he is researching this topic, so any help would be appreciated. The second letter, which is from Dr. Olmsted, is dated November 30, 1939. The note describes some of Dr. Olmsted's experiences and ideas on gathering such notes.

[Correspondence between Meyer Bodansky and A. L. Dean - December 16, 1939 - January 6, 1940]

Description: Letters between Dr. Meyer Bodansky, who is from the Department of Pathological Chemistry at the University of Texas School of Medicine, and A. L. Dean, who is the Secretary of the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum in London, England. The first letter, which is dated December 16, 1939, is from Dr. Bodansky. He explains that he recently has been interested in Scottish medicine, and has been studying scholarly volumes and manuscripts. He requests that the museum send him a particular volume of work over John D. Comrie that is entitled, "History of Scottish Medicine". The second letter is a response from the Secretary, and is dated January 6, 1940. The Secretary explains that the volumes are only distributed by the publisher, and provides the name and address of who to contact.

Description: Directory for Abilene, Texas includes address listings for businesses and individuals, as well as advertisements from local businesses. According to the title page, the directory contains "an alphabetical directory of business concerns and private citizens, a directory of householders, occupants of office buildings and other business places, including a complete street and avenue guide and much information of a miscellaneous character; also a buyers' guide and a complete classified business directory." The general index begins on page 7 and the index to advertisers begins on page 8.
