Pallbearers can be seen carrying a coffin in the right of the image, while a crowd of others watch on the left. Several small buildings can be seen in the background. Life Goes to a Mountain Funeral. Mrs. Elizabeth O’Dell is buried deep in the hills of Tennesse. The first three rools of film (12 exposures each) shot by Joe with his own camera ended up as 14 pictures in LIFE magazine. This was one of them.
