There are several large rocks with two young girls facing the camera standing upon one and two older girls standing behind them, facing each another. The girls are all wearing dark-colored dresses. To the right, a man and woman are standing together on the ground; the man is wearing dark colors and has a hat on, the woman is wearing a dark skirt and a lighter-colored shirt. Behind the people and to their right, there is a small, wooden structure. In the background there is a rocky cliff with some desert vegetation and the ground around them appears to be mainly bare except for rocks.

Blackwell School

Description: This image was scanned from the negative of the photograph. It shows the buildings of the Blackwell School in Marfa, Texas. In the foreground, the ground is bare dirt and the buildings are in the background. There are at least three different white buildings with many windows and doors. The building in the middle has the name of the school visible over the door. There are shrubs planted against the walls of the buildings. To the right, there is a flagpole (but no flag), a bare tree, and some other shrubs. A handwritten note on the back of the print says, "Blackwell School about 1940."

Officer's Line, Fort Davis, Texas

Description: In this photograph, there are about 10 buildings that appear to be identical, all in a line. A handwritten note on the front says "Officers Line" which suggests that the buildings are the houses of the officers and their families. Each house has a dark roof and five white pillars that form the rim of the porch. There are trees interspersed among the houses. In front of the buildings, there is a large area that is fenced in and contains several animals. Behind the houses, there is a rocky ridge covered in desert scrub and plants. This postcard was sent to "Mr. Frank Russell" in Marfa, Texas and the postmark is from Casa Piedra, Texas sent August 27, 1915. The text, handwritten in ink, reads: "Dear Frank:- This card re-calls memories of much a _happy_ day and each moon-light night that we have been riding & have wished that you were with us. Don't work too hard but come out here if you can. Lovingly, Mabel."

The H. A. King Ranch

Description: This photograph shows a group of trees in front of several mountains. There appear to be fence posts marking off an area to the right of the photograph. In the foreground there are rocks and ground covered in desert scrub. Handwritten notes on the back of the photograph read: "The H. A. King Ranch, Musquiz Canon, Jeff Davis County Tx, June 1929 by H. A. King" and "10 miles south of Fr. Davis. Build but [...] and then bought 1883 by Col. Grierson [?] who married Mrs. King (mother of H. A.) after first wife Alice died."
