Device for Automatically Exhibiting Business Cards, &c.

Description: Patent for a new and improved display. This design, "for automatically exhibiting business cards and the like, of a panel having an opening therein, uprights having the retaining guides secured on each side of said opening, the angle-irons secured beneath said opening, a longitudinally-inclined bar having a beveled upper edge provided with a recess for extending across said panel, a sliding frame having a spring secured thereto, a hook on said spring, and means for giving said frame a vibratory or reciprocating movement" (lines 11-22).

Description: Patent for a new and improved display rack and stand. This design "is to provide a novelty rack for displaying or exhibiting fancy goods, wearing-apparel, hats, bonnets, and other articles; and to such end the invention consists of a standard suitably supported by a base-piece, a collar or ring, and a series of arms sustained by the collar or ring, with their inner arms resting in frictional contact with the surface and the stand, the collar or ring being of such diameter as to stand at a distance from the standard to form a fulcrum or bearing for the arms at a short distance from their inner ends" (lines 8-19).

This design "is to provide an indicator for the use of retail dealers in boots and shoes, or other merchandise and wares, by which apparatus the stock can be kept with great accuracy and facility. To that end . . . an indicating-plate with slides [is included], which is to be attached upon the boxes, shelves, drawers, or other receptacles for the goods, as an indicator for showing what goods are contained in the receptacle" (lines 8-17).
