Description: Patent for a new and improved regulator for boiler feeders. This design "consists in certain novel details of construction, arrangement, and operation whereby a superior machine is produced for the purpose of regulating and supplying boilers with water, keeping the water at a uniform height, preventing explosions from low water, and automatically removing sediment, impurities, and foam as fast as it accumulates" (lines 14-22).

Feeder for Cotton Presses.

Description: Patent for a new and improved feeder for cotton presses. This design is "constructed with a receiving-box and a feed-box separated by a sliding plate attached to a follower secured to the piston-rod of a steam-cylinder, to adapt the said feeder to be interposed between a cotton-gin and a baling-press. The inlet and outlet valves of the steam-cylinder are connected by two pairs of connecting-rods with two levers, so that the movements of the piston can be readily controlled" (lines 19-28).

Cotton Gin Feeder.

Description: Patent for a new and improved cotton-gin feeder. This design consists in "a rectangular inclined box, endless feeding belts having spiked slats, the revolving fan at the upper end of the inclined box, and screen at the opposite end and lower side of the box, through which the sand and dirt from the cotton may escape, the current of air from the revolving fan assisting in expelling the sand and dirt, the latter falling between the slats and down the inclined bottom of the box and out through the screen" (lines 73-83).

Description: Patent for a new and improved governor for cotton gins. This design "consists, first, in the combination of an oscillating or movable roll-breast with a regulating attachment, whereby the size of the roll or the pressure of the cotton in the roll-box is made to regulate the feed to the gin to any desired degree; second, in forming a series of slots through the outer side of the roll-breast, so that the cotton seed may be discharged through the outer side of the breast, as well as in addition to the usual slot which is made through the bottom of the roll-box" (lines 15-25).
