Hay Knife.

Description: Patent for a new and improved hay knife. This design "consists in the construction and novel arrangement of the forked frame, the lever pivoted thereto, slotted at one end and carrying at the other end a cutting-blade working through bearings in the fork, the crank pivoted to the frame and engaging the slot of the lever, and the pressure-head or cross-bar connected to the outer end of the frame" (lines 18-26).

Gage for Adjusting Planer Knives.

Description: Patent for a new and improved gauge for planer knives. This design is "for use in planing and other mills where side heads are used to supply the need of a convenient appliance for holding the side heads in best position for filing, sharpening, or setting the bits, to afford a strong machine for holding the side heads firmly and securely in any position that the work[person] may desire while sharpening or adjusting the bits to the desired pattern" (lines 30-38).

Description: Patent for a pocket knife that includes a wet stone built into its detachable handle. The handle may be taken off in order for the user to sharpen retractable blades attached to the pocket knife. This improvement upon the pocket knife design may be employed to the handle portion of any knife such as butcher knives or hunting knives.
