[Atrium at the Emily Fowler Library]

Description: Color photograph of the upper level of the Emily Fowler Library, Denton Public Library, taken from the west end of the atrium. A panel of Lynn Ford wood carvings can be seen on the south wall (right). White ceramic lights made by the Beaumont Mood Lighting Company hang over the garden. The plants in the atrium were funded and maintained by the Denton Garden Culture Club.

Description: Letter from Edwin Sue Goree, field worker of Texas State Library, to Mrs. W. B. Chambers, Chair of Library Club, Denton County Council, P.T.A., regarding the procurement of school books. Goree replied that the Texas State Library was not able to loan books or further assistance at present but suggested establishing a Denton county library.
