Description: Patent for a new and improved riding plow. This design consists in "[t]he combination of the bent axle having the vertical curved portion, the draft-bar secured to the axle, the plow-beam pivoted at its front end to a bracket secured to the draft-bar, rack secured to the plow-beam, pinion secured to the axle and engaging with the rack, sprocket-wheel on the shaft with pinion, sprocket-wheel journaled above [another] wheel and having a crank, and the endless sprocket-chain connecting the wheels" (lines 30-39).

Sulky Plow.

Description: Patent for a new and improved sulky plow. This design "consists in a sulky-plow constructed with the sliding block carrying the adjustable wheel locked in place by a sliding spring-pressed bolt and withdrawn by means of an elbow-lever. The sliding wheel-carrying block is provided with rack-teeth engaging with the teeth of a double-gear wheel placed loosely upon the journal of the plow-crank, and connected with the plow-crank lever by a pawl, whereby the machine can be leveled and the plow adjusted by means of the same lever (lines 20-31).

Description: Patent for a new and improved revolving plow. This design calls for a cylinder with blades attached radially for "cutting up, breaking, and turning over the soil or turf, in which the cutter blades are freed automatically" (lines 7-10). This design represents an improvement in sulky plows due to its novel combination and arrangement of crank-axle, tongue, angular guide-braces, diagonal brace, and adjustable collars (lines 85-87). Sweep Plow.

Description: Patent for a new and improved sweep-plow. This design is "to provide a sweep-plow especially adapted for the cultivation of cotton and to so construct the same that the blades or wings thereof may be adjusted for the purpose of plowing between rows of various widths" (lines 8-13). It consists, "with the sweep curved in cross-section to form the central shovel-receiving seat, which is slotted opposite the rearwardly-disposed triangular sides or flanges, which latter are perforated near their lower ends and provided with their upper ends with curved slots, with which the perforations are concentric" (lines 55-62).
