Description: Patent for a new and improved quilting-frame for sewing machines. This design consists, "with the track and the carriage consisting of the U-shaped bail formed from a single piece of metal, having the ends bifurcated and provided with grooved wheels" (lines 97-100). It also consists "of the screw-threaded rod having a head at its lower end, passing through an aperture in the bail, the burr or nut consisting of the interiorly-sccrew-threaded collar, with which said rod engages, the beam having an aperture, through which said rod loosely passes, the depending bars, the side bars, and the rollers" (lines 1-8).

Description: Patent for a new and improved quilting attachment for sewing machines. This design "is to provide a device . . . adapted to be adjustable in any manner desired over the leaf, table, or arm of a sewing-machine" (lines 14-17). It consists in "a standard supporting a track-bar, a bar swiveled to said hanger and having end journals, and curved end yokes or arms movably connected to said end journals of the latter bar and supporting-rollers, said curved end yokes or arms having the said bar connected to the central part of the upper portions of the same and open at their lower ends" (lines 15-24).

This design "is to combine the parts by which a quilter is suspended from a ceiling and connected with a sewing-machine" (lines 15-18). To this end, it consists in "[t]he track having a bead on the inner side of top, an eye at each end, and suspended on an incline from the ceiling by two wires at each end, said wires diverging from the track-eyes to the ceiling, in combination with the head-block arranged on the opposite side of track from the sewing-machine arm and carrying rolls suspended from a block" (lines 78-86).

This design "consists of an improved arrangement of apparatus for suspending the quilting-frame from overhead rods, on which it is made to traverse for passing the quilt along the sewing-machine to be quilted, the essential object being to contrive a simple means of shifting the frame with relation to the machine and for placing it diagonally and for turning it around from side to side, so that when the quilt is very heavy one half can be quilted, and then the quilt turned and the other half quilted on the other side" (lines 7-18).
