Refrigerating Apparatus.

Description: Patent for a new and improved refrigerator. This design "consists, essentially, in a series of vessels surrounded or enveloped by fibrous material, dipping into a water-vessel above, and serving to maintain a constant supply of water to the exterior of the vessels through capillary action, the water being caused to pass down in such quantity as to drip from the bottoms of the vessels and collect in a second tank supplying a second series of vessels in the same manner, and finally to collect in a suitable vessel below, intermediate filtering apparatus being provided or not, as required" (lines 9-20).

Refrigerating Machine.

Description: Patent for a new and improved refrigerator. This design "relates to that class of refrigerating or ice-making machinery wherein a liquefiable gas . . . is introduced into a compression-pump and is compressed to a state of liquefaction, the pressure being subsequently removed, the liquefied refrigerating agent expands with rapidity . . . and, the frigorific' effects produced by the volatile liquid again assuming its gaseous state, is utilized for absorption of heat; and the invention consists in certain improvements in the construction of the gas-compressor and its adjuncts" (lines 10-23).

Refrigerating Apparatus.

Description: Patent for a new and improved refrigerator. This design consists "[i]n a refrigerating apparatus, the combination of a trap cylinder communicating with a horizontal cylinder which unites two vertical piston-cylinders, said piston-cylinders having suction and compression valves arranged at their upper ends in a cap having separate communications with suction pipes with compression-pipes communicating with said trap-cylinder" (lines 44-52).

Refrigerator.

Description: Patent for a new and improved refrigerator. This design is "for use without ice, the cooling effect being secured by the evaporation of water. Consequently the apparatus will be most effective when exposed to a current of air. The apparatus is formed with a suitable framing, having its sides closed in with wire-gauze to permit the free circulation of air, and at the same time exclude insects and the like. At one side a door affords access to the interior of the refrigerator, and legs serve to hold its bottom above the floor or other support on which the refrigerator stands" (lines 16-28).
