Suspenders.

Description: Patent for new and improved suspenders. This design "has for its object to provide a simple and inexpensive article of this character which will avoid the objections to the present form of suspenders" (lines 10-13). More specifically, it "consists in providing a suspender which will be attached on each side by a button or stud to the shirt near the apex of the shoulder, close to the collar-band, then bringing the ends together under the arms, and then about half-way between the arms and the top of the pantaloons, uniting the ends in a buckle of any suitable design" (lines 36-41).

Vest and Drawers Holder.

Description: Patent for new and improved suspenders. This design consists, "[a]s an improved article of manufacture, the vest and drawers holder . . . consisting of the main bar having the arm bent downward from its upper end and provided with a clasp for connecting with the drawers, the main bar being also provided near its upper and lower ends with safety-pins for connection with the vest" (lines 60-67).

Supporter for Trousers and Similar Garments.

Description: Patent for a new and improved belt. This design "relates to appliances used either instead of the usual suspenders or in addition thereto for supporting trousers, overalls, and similar garments upon the wearer's person" (lines 10-14). It "compris[es] a belt, a number of upwardly-extending rigid supporting-standards connected to said belt and each provided with a pivoted clamping-lever, and a number of rigid upwardly-extending extension-supports working telescopically in said standards and held in position by said clamping-levers" (lines 100-106).

Suspender Device.

Description: Patent for a suspender device that is "a [rear] fastening device having a central loop, a coil, a keeper and a pin extending from the coil and engaging the keeper all formed from one piece of wire, in combination, with a slide having a linked portion surrounding and vertically movable on the central loop, and having a pair of ends or prongs projecting upward between the loop and the linked-portion of the slide to form tongues" (lines 81-90). The forward fastening devices attach to the ends of webbing.
