Tent and Attachment.

Description: Patent for a new and improved tent. This design is "to provide a tent-frame in such a manner that it may be readily folded into small compass, and which when extended for use will be very strong and serviceable" (lines 14-17). To this end, it consists of a cap, "of the rafters pivoted in the walls of said recesses and having their ends formed with a short incline or bevel and a longer or different incline or bevel" (lines 1-4).

Description: This photograph shows a group of people - both men and women of different ages - and they are standing under a large tree. The men are all wearing suits and hats; the women are wearing dresses and hats as well. The people in the front row are sitting in chairs and there are people standing in a second row behind them. The ground in front of them is covered in short grass and there is a small bush. In the background, there are some other trees. To the left, there appears to be a covered wagon, and to the far right, there is a white tent.

Description: Night photograph of a campsite in West Texas near Mule Ear Canyon. The photographer, Fred Smithers ignited flash powder on a sheet of paper to create the photo. This photo was included in a research paper by Jaime Javier Vasquez for an American History class in 1978.
