Description: Patent for a pneumatic feed device or elevator and distributor for cotton gins. It has a mechanical conveyer that connects "with the blast device, so that a positive force feed is obtained and the cotton is placed evenly over the gins, and wherein further an overflow box is employed and an independent means of feeding the cotton through the medium of the said blast device, either from a vehicle or bin or from the overflow box, thus enabling the gin to be fed even while the connection between the bin or main source of supply is cut off; and wherein also the blower or fan employed in connection with the pneumatic conveying device may likewise be used for forcing the speed delivered from the gin to any desired point" (lines 12-26).

Description: Patent for a new and improved thill-carrier for harnesses. This design utilizes a loop or ring, and "[b]y this construction of the thill-carriers it will be seen that the trouble and annoyance of running the thills into and backing them out of the thill-carriers are entirely overcome, and by means of the loops or rings . . . the thills are perfectly confined in the carriers . . . [they] may be made very cheap, and also very ornamental to the harness" (lines 66-76).

Description: Patent for a new and improved table. This design "can be adjusted vertically by turning the screw-spindle, or it can be drawn upward, and will be held in position by the spring-catch, which catches on the shoulders. If the table is to be used at a sick-bed, it can be projected laterally by drawing the table-top in the direction in which it is to project, the track-plate sliding in the grooved plate. The table-top can be locked in the desired position by means of the binding screw" (lines 90-100).

Process of Tanning Hides.

Description: Patent for "an improved process of tanning hides in an expeditious and economical manner, and to produce a fine quality of leather" (lines 8-11). The limed and haired hides are baited thrice, afterwards the hides are packed into "tanning-vats with bark and covering them with a solution of alum and water" (lines 80-82). The hides are then leached in salt water and scoured and dried.

Description: Patent for a new and improved paper cutter. This design "relates to that class of paper holders and cutters in which the paper is drawn through a holder and severed at any desired point. Description: Patent for a new and improved combined hook and buckle. This design "is especially adapted for use upon the back-bands, whether of leather or canvas, of harnesses, and for receiving and holding the leather trace or trace-chains of the harness; but it may be attached to various other parts of the harness, and used for various other purposes. Apparatus for the Treatment of Cotton.

Description: Patent for a machine that puts gins and condensers in a line, which sit over a flue. "The lint cotton in bat form being delivered from all of the condensers in independent bats to a common conveyer, the bat cotton increasing in thickness upon the common conveyer and in its travel to a press, compress or other receptacle, receiving the different bats from the different condensers, one bat lying smoothly upon the other, until at the discharge end of the common conveyer, the bat in which the lint is evenly distributed and which is of considerable thickness, will be conveniently discharged" (lines 13-24).

Description: Patent for a new and improved horse collar. This design "consists in forming a portion of the large roll of the collar with leather, and the other part with canvas or ducking of two thicknesses, between which double part of ducking or canvas is placed a medicated composition and preservative, which serves as a remedial agent for the galling of horses shoulders', and as a preventative against gnawing of the collar by vermin.
