Description: Patent for a new and improved bin. This design consists in "[t]he combination of a casing having bearing blocks or shoulders, a tilting bin located in said casing and provided with a sloping top, and an automatic cover placed loosely in the casing above the shoulders and provided on the under side, near its front edge, with a cleat fitting within the upper part of the bin, whereby said cover is adapted to close the upright bin and limit its forward movement when opened" (lines 7-16).

Harrow.

Description: Patent for a new and improved harrow. This design "has relation to that class of rotary harrows having arms provided with and extending radially from a common center, a track-ring connected to the upper side of the harrow-arms, upon which work friction-rollers connected to the seat-support. It is the object of the invention to improve the construction of the harrow-arms which carry the teeth, and the manner of connecting them to a common center, whereby the above class of harrows are materially increased in efficiency, much stronger, and more durable" (lines 12-24).

Car Coupling.

Description: Patent for a new and improved coupling for railroad-cars. This design consists in "an ordinary draw-head provided with the usual pin-and-link coupling [that] can be readily and cheaply adapted for use as an automatic coupling. The invention consists in the combination, with a slotted draw-head and a coupling-pin swinging therein and provided with pivotal supports or trunnions, of a vertically-projecting and axially-rotatable guide loop or staple arranged on each side of the pin-slot and adapted to hold the pin from being jolted out of the draw-head, and to permit its withdrawal" (lines 9-20).

Description: Patent for a new and improved safe. This design "has for its objects, among others, to provide a simple, cheap, and economical safe, in which provisions may be kept cool during the hot season and from freezing during the winter weather. I provide a suitable post or support, from which extend brackets, shelves, or hooks or other provisions for the support of the various articles to be contained therein. [T]he whole [is covered] with a cloth and [has] a water tank or receptacle at the upper end and . . . ha[s] a stream of water flow[ing] or trickl[ing] down upon the cloth to saturate the same" (lines 14-25).

Washing Machine.

Description: Patent for a new and improved washing-machine. This design is "to provide a machine having an oscillating and revolving rubber, means for securing the rubber to the operating-shaft, and to provide bearings for said shaft which may be adjusted to compensate for any wear of parts. A further object is to provide adjustable legs, whereby one side of the machine may be raised or lowered, thus decreasing or increasing the pressure of the rubber upon the articles being washed" (lines 17-27).

Description: Patent for an improvement in washing-machine by attaching two horizontal "braces" to the supporting legs of the suds-box, and making the supporting legs adjustable both vertically and laterally.
