Description: Postcard of a large white steamship with yellow and black steamers with white decorative stars. The flag flying bears the name "Northland." Below the scene, "Northern Steamship Co's S. S. North Land This is a perfect palace. Sister ship," is written. On the back, the postcard is addressed to "Miss Mamie McFaddin 1141 3rd Ave Huntington, West Va."

The return notes enlisted men on "extra or daily duty," commissioned officers present or absent, and any alterations made to the company for this particular month. This document was created while Redway was stationed at Kelly's Creek in West Virginia.
