Description: Patent for improvements in spark-arresters for smoke-pipes by using a “combination of a bent smoke-pipe having one complete turn downward, a cinder-piper opening into the lowest portion of said turn, and a coarse wire screen titled backward and overhanging said turn, a receptacle having a slanting bottom hinged at the upper end and secured at the lower end by means of a chin passing over a suitable roller and leading to the rear of the boiler,” (p. 2, lines 20-28) illustration is included.

Description: Patent for improvements in brackets that used to support shelf or for other purposes by using a combination of hinged brackets, a longitudinal wire formed with bends to receive the inclined portions of the brackets, and with hooks at its outer ends; this improved brackets “can be folded in close contact with the shelf, so as to occupy little space for shipment or storage.” (Lines 17-19) Illustration is included.

Description: Patent for improvements in refracting-telescopes in which the instrument may be readily and accurately focused by adjustment of the lenses within the telescoping sections; and by having one or more perforated diaphragms for avoiding errors due to spherical aberration, an adjustable and removable transmitter for the light passing through the object-glass, for the purpose of toning the quantity of light. Description: Patent for improvements in curtain-fixtures in which it can be “readily applied to a window and capable of enabling its brackets to be readily adjusted to suite a curtain-roller.” (Lines 11-13) It also can prevent the curtain-roller becoming accidentally disengaged from the bracket by reason of one bracket being slightly higher than the other. Wagon-Brake.

Description: Patent for an improvement in a wagon-brake using an operating-lever that is mounted in a bracket near the front axle, and consist of diverging arms; and a segmental rack-plate with teeth that is arranged to be engaged by a sliding pawl. When the operating-lever and the sliding pawl are connected; when the brake-bars are in motion, clamping the wheels of a vehicle thus making it stop.

Description: Patent for improvements in wires tightening tool by using a frame in the shape of a lyre and a hollow screw-shaft mounted on the frame. A twister-rod arranged within the shaft which having a hook at one end and a polygonal head at the other. A hand-lever is adapted to operate the shaft and rod in order to twist a wire.
