Wedding Shoes

Description: Wedding shoes of off-white or champagne satin. The shoes have rounded toes, and no ornamentation. The medium-high heel is set under, is rounded at back and sides and curved at front, tapers to center and then swells to base, and is covered with matching satin; it has the same natural brown colored leather on the heel's cap and on the soles of the shoes. Stamped inside both shoes: "2 D13583"

[Strop with a wooden core]

Description: Strop with a wooden core two padded leather sides parallel to each other, one side is unpadded leather, and the fourth side is inset with a hone. One of the padded sides has a 6 cm hole exposing cotton, same side is missing three nails and is torn.

[Soldering iron]

Description: Soldering iron with a copper plated head, four sided with a pyramid point, with an octagonal body of head. At the back of the head there is a long painted black iron neck that has been inserted into the head. The neck ends in a point. The wooden handle is removable and fits over the pointed end of the neck. It is a turned handle that split in half and been repaired with black electrical tape. Description: Photographic postcard of Carry Nation. Nation is dressed in a dark colored dress with buttons that run along the left side of the it. She has a matching cape over her shoulders. She has a long fabric headpiece covering the back of her graying hair. A white flower or bow is tied at the collar. She has three pins pinned to her cape - one is of a hatchet that is pinned on left side of cape. Nation is holding a book on her right hand and her left thumb is resting on a page.

[Compass saw]

Description: Compass saw that has an upside down G-Shaped handle with two screwed where the blade inserts. The one further away from the blade is 2 cm in diameter and is stamped with H Disston & Sons Philada With a little emblem in the center. The other is 1.2 cm in diameter and is plain. The blade is most likely the original because it has been engraved with the same names.

[Portrait of a Mother and Her Two Children]

Description: Black and white portrait of Hansigne Larsen Wind and her two children, Ebbe and Abelone. Hansigne is seated in a wooden chair and is dressed in a long, dark gown. The children are standing on either side of Hansigne, with their arms placed in her lap. The back of the mat has a handwritten note which says, "Leaving Iowa to visit mother's family taken in 1895. Mother Ebbe. Daddy left for Tex in 1894, Oct. We 3 joined him here in June 1895."
